Anyone can wear Covet & Mane's hair extensions, even those with naturally curly, textured hair. How? While most brands only have straight hair extensions, Covet & Mane has Textures.

This line of hair extensions has wavy and curly textures because everyone deserves to be able to add volume and length to their natural hair.

If you already have Textures and want to find out how you can get that sleek, polished look with it, we've got the perfect tutorial for you. Covet & Mane's Educator, Ian, demonstrates how to style textured hair extensions while sharing his biggest tips below.

What You'll Need to Create a Smooth Hairstyle

Worried your blowout will get ruined at the slightest hint of humidity? Don't worry. With these tools, you'll get a polished hairstyle that'll last all night while having cocktails with the girls!

1. Heat Protectant Spray - A very important hair product when doing this look as you'll need your hot tools to be at a high temperature to flatten those kinks and curls.

2. Curling Iron - For a blowout that doesn't look flat, take a 1-inch or 1 1/2-inch curling iron and wrap sections of your straightened hair around it.

3. Hair Clips - Once your whole head is curled, you'll need these clips to set the curls and let them cool.

4. Mixed Bristle Brush - To smoothen out those curls!

5. Hairspray - Your hair's best friend so no amount of sweat or moisture will ruin it.

Step 1: Prep the Hair for Heat

Before you begin, make sure your hair is clean and dry. Applying heat to dirty or damp hair can cause extra damage, and we don't want that. For extra protection, apply heat protection spray on your hair and let it dry. Next, divide your hair into manageable sections. This will help ensure even heat styling, preventing you from having to go over the same section multiple times.

Step 2: Curl and Let it Cool

Heat up your curling iron to the desired temperature. Remember, curly, textured hair needs a good amount of heat so you can manipulate it easily.

Take small sections of hair—the smaller, the better for better heat distribution—and curl them. Hold each curl for a few seconds to set the shape.

After curling each section, allow the curls to cool by coiling it and holding it with clips. This is a crucial step to ensure the style holds throughout the day. Giving your hair enough time to cool down is the secret to a polished hairstyle that lasts!

Tip: When working with hair extensions, consider their placement on the scalp and section your hair based on this. It may seem time-consuming, but trust us, this will help prevent tangling and damage to the extensions!

Step 3: Gently Brush The Hair Out

Once your hair has cooled, take a mixed bristle brush and carefully brush out the curls in each sectioned area. It will not only get rid of knots but create that smooth blowout you've wanted.

Step 4: Repeat on the Other Side

Now that you’ve successfully smoothed and polished one side, it’s time to work on the other side. Follow the same steps to achieve your dream hairstyle5

Step 5: Set the Style

Before you admire your hair, don't forget to give it a good coating of hairspray. Hairspray is every Hollywood actor's secret to having a hairstyle that lasts the whole day and night, and it will be yours, too.

Now that you know how to work with textured hair extensions and create new styles with it, add them to your cart so you can be on your way to feeling and looking like your best self!
